Joshua is the Composer of the city Shibuya. A Composer is a being that rules over a certain territory, for Joshua, he is, of course the ruler of Shibuya.
Joshua had planned to erase Shibuya because of the many flaws in the city, but his Conductor, Megumi Kitaniji, refuses to let that happen. Joshua and Megumi decided to play a game to see if Shibuya is to stay or not. Joshua gave Megumi a month long time limit to see if he could change Shibuya into the Shibuya that the Composer wanted. To make the game be fair, Joshua had to handicap himself with a proxy. A handpicked proxy from the RG (Realground) to go to the UG (Underground) to compete against the Conductor. Joshua chose a 15 year old boy named Neku Sakuraba to be his proxy. Joshua had to go into the RG to kill Neku to be able to transport him into the UG.
Joshua watched Neku from the RG as Neku progressed to play the game for him. Without realizing it that is.
During the second week, Neku was sent back to play the game and Joshua had transported himself back into the UG to be Neku's partner. There are three reasons behind the Composer's actions:
1: to ascertain the Conductor's strategy,
2: to educate his proxy, and
3: to protected him
On the last day of the second week, Joshua and Neku had to defeat the GM (Game Master) of the week. The GM, Sho Minamimoto had been going after the Composer's seat for a while and planned on killing Joshua for the position. Minamimoto had placed a bomb that was going to kill both him, and the remaining players. Namely, Joshua and Neku. Joshua knew what was coming and threw Neku behind him as he took the blow.
But... Joshua didn't really take the blow. He transported himself into a parallel world of Shibuya. Where Tin Pin Slammer -of all things!-- reigns supreme. He stayed there for quite a while, before going back to his Shibuya to confront Neku one last time. Who ever shoots first after a ten second countdown, wins the game and takes the title of the Composer and does whatever he wants with Shibuya. Neku couldn't bring himself to shoot Joshua and ended up getting killed by Joshua... again.
However, he stayed his decision to destroy Shibuya. It seems the course of the Game has brought about a change of heart in the Composer. Shibuya did not get erased, but it wasn't the same Shibuya as it was one month ago. Joshua had finally saw through the flaws of Shibuya and has taken a liking to the new Shibuya as the Composer has changed as well.

| That's not very nice you know... not to get on your bad side and I'm sorry if I did, but I don't have any Naruto-ish traits either...
Yea... we all know he can be a total ass sometimes with the more than annoying "Good work, Neku" quote. But still... I happened to beat the game too and I find him to be one of the best characters there ( I like Neku the best... XD). | |

I don't think anyone cares if you beat the game or not or if he got on your bad side. Nor if anyone cares if you hate prissy ppl. Is this the welcome we exect from you? I don't think so. You are merly all but a student so I expect you to shut your mouth and know your place. your position now does not allow you to tell people what to do or what not. I've also noticed you god moding alot this will be your last chance. Do not god mod and control other characters if you do you will have to face the concequences and be what joshua would call 'erased' I think I make myself clear.. Joshua as for you please extend your description a little longer. your powers can include playing with pins for all i care you'd be accepted when you do that as for now...
